The current waiting time for a DSA Needs Assessment is 3 working days
Your Assessment
Your assessment is an informal and friendly discussion between you and your experienced assessor. This discussion is an opportunity for your assessor to hear and understand your needs and current learning styles. You will work together with your assessor in designing your support, to ensure that all recommendations meet your needs.
The experience will be relaxed and enjoyable, spending time looking at new equipment, assistive software and support strategies. You are able to try a wide variety of new technologies, aimed at enhancing your ability to engage with your course and maximising your potential.
Your assessment is in no way a test, but a fantastic opportunity to work with an experienced assessor in designing an individual support strategy. Your assessor will explore your current learning styles and needs, in relation to your course requirements, to produce forward thinking support recommendations.
These recommendations may include:
Software
Equipment
Assistive IT
Mentoring/Coaching
Tuition & Training
Transport strategies
General costs, including printing and internet
Your assessment should take around two hours and, once you are happy with the recommendations identified, your assessor will compile a report for you, within 10 working days. The report will outline the recommended support and detail costs from different approved suppliers, so that your Funding Body can put your support in place as quickly as possible.
Once your report has been agreed with you and sent to your Funding Body, if you still require our help then Aim Assessments will continue to support you in the process of receiving your equipment. If you have not heard back from your Funding Body, or there are any complications with your recommendations, then just get back in touch with our team, who will be happy to help.
